Free Samples Up For Grabs - HELP ME!

eyelashes!
MORE ITEMS ADDED!
(12/12/2009)
Ok, I'll be honest - I'm a sucker for all sorts of samples, and I get loads from everywhere: especially from my goodies bag from my races, and sometimes, samples that came with purchases.

The thing is, they always give me in multiples, so I can hardly finish using it! Since it's free, I might as well give them away to people who might be interested. Most of the items under the cut are free, you just need to pay for postage as stated under the item.

Things to note:
  • All items are brand new, and sometimes even sealed, unless stated otherwise
  • The size I am giving away is highlighted in bold. The actual sizes (if provided) are for reference only. If the actual size is highlighted, it means that the sample is in actual size.
  • Postage is accumulative. Meaning if you get 3 items of $0.50 postage each, you will pass me $1.50.
  • There is no limit as to how many items one can get, but you need a minimum of 3 items. (I need to CLEAR them, remember? :D)
  • Samples are of first-pay-first-serve basis, no reserving of any items.
  • Dead buyers get killed still apply.
  • Leave me a comment, please don't email! Anonymous comments, please leave behind your email address.
  • If items are pending, please still feel free to leave your interest behind. I will get back to you if the deal falls through, after I kill the dead-buyer. :)
  • Items that have been taken will be removed to prevent confusion.
  • Bank account to transfer to: DBS Savings Plus 0519018221

kitty cat!
I'm damn bored.

I'm supposed to be mugging over my Media Relations paper that is going to happen tonight, but I'm totally procrastinating because I refuse to take another look at any media releases/backgrounder/speeches/whatever for the next 4 hours or so.

So, I do what I like to do most when I'm bored - blog.

And I spam my blog with too much pictures of good food, it makes me hungry now. But I'm too lazy to shower, change and head out to buy breakfast.

This was lunch with XY at Han's at Mandai. (Note to self: Mandai =/= Upper Thomson.)

Apparently, I need the note to self because I made my beloved sis drive all the way to AMK, and then tarik down to Mandai, all because I mixed up Mandai with Upper Thomson. Hee.

Typical thing I do all the time. So next time, when you're in the car with me, don't ask me for directions. If you do, when I say left, please turn right. And when you think I'm wrong, I'm most likely wrong. Even when I tell you I'm 90% sure.

But the above doesn't apply when I'm the one driving, because I'll most likely not listen to you and turn left anyway. Haha!

So I bought them lunch. Actually, I had only wanted to pay for XY and leave Nian to pay for himself (I know I'm damn evil), but because of a bet I had with Nian and I lost, I bought lunch for everybody!

Ok lah, I'm quite happy to do that anyway. Besides, I always geh siao and pretend we didn't bet on anything when he wins (which is like most of the time). If I don't fulfill my "penalty", he won't want to bet anything with me next time already!

Nomnomnom.

I think Han's meals are really quite worth the money. Imagine with less than $10 per person, we got like the whole set of orange juice, cream of carrot, and pudding. Even though the pudding tasted funny, but it's still worth it ma, right!?

We ordered another cheese omelette, which very unfortunately was gobbled down before a picture is taken to prove its existence. (Bright idea: Maybe I could make myself a cheese omelette for breakfast! :D)

Us in our couple jerseys that Leong got for us for our birthdays... which I think half of the world has it as well. -__- You know, something like this proportion:

Disclaimer: Please note that this pie chart does not represent any actual figures, it is purely based on opinion. And obviously I am a Man Utd fan and a Chelsea hater, please note that this pie chart is extremely unreliable and should not be quoted for anything.... I think. And if you're gonna flame me for misrepresenting the amount of fans of whatever clubs, I'm just gonna ignore you. :)

But that's ok! That means, Man Utd is popular! Btw, they won Wolves 3-0 last night! Good come back after the loss at Old Trafford I guess.

Boy, that was upsetting ok. :(

One of my favouritest person and I. <3

And er.... we headed home, and I ate some more.

How can anybody ever, ever, EVER miss out on home-cooked pineapple rice with loads of fat shrimps hiding, together with chunky pineapple bits!?

Nevermind la. I will resume my dieting today. :P

Ok, gonna bounce around some more before actual mugging. Ciaos!

A Day in My Life - iPhone version

  • Dec. 15th, 2009 at 2:01 PM
swissotel 09
Yes, I know this is like the third entry about the iPhone, and nope, I'm not over it yet. :P

Yesterday's photoshoot was great fun! Although because of time constrains, we only managed to spend about 2 hours with Samantha, our photographer, we were really glad with all of the pictures she had shown us so far! We're planning to have another round to make up for lost time on Thursday. Hopefully by then we'll warm up faster and get more funny shots. :D

Anyways, this entry is a backlogged one, about 3 days back. I'm kinda literally stuck on weekends, you see. Heehee.

So basically, our itinerary for the day was to 1) go paktor, 2) send Lava and Yussof off, and 3) attend Naresh's wedding (Yes, our 5th wedding for the year). I'm wearing [info]herwalkincloset 's Paris Hilton Inspired Tube Dress.

Oh! Talking about [info]herwalkincloset , the very kind management somehow pounced upon my previous entry about the dress I bought, and have very generously offered me to choose another dress in the sales section as compensation. While I haven't picked anything I liked yet, I am grateful for how thoughtful they are.

I mean, they could've pretended not to have read my entry and left it as it is, yes? :D Hence, I am totally appreciative of their kind gesture. You bet I'll be buying more things from there in time to come. :P

So our paktor programme was relatively simple - have a good lunch! I was still coughing away then, so as advised by Mummy Tan, I have to avoid cold drinks, cooling food (like pineapples, oranges etc.) and chicken.

I don't understand why chickens will aggravate coughs, but it's better to be safe than sorry!

So we ended up in MFM since Nian hasn't tried it before. (Seafood! No cheeken!)

My baby concentrating on some fishing show while I continued snapping away.

FOOOOOD!!!

I've decided to eat happily, like what all of my friends have been telling me. Besides, I've grown tired of dieting my life away. But to be honest, I kinda avoided the rice and the chips. Hee.

After some quiet, happy time together, we adjourned to Changi Airport to consume more calories. :P Met up with Lava and Yussof, together with Hakim for another round of sinful lunch.

I think this picture of them looks super cute lol. Look how hard they were grinning, haha!

I like the lomo-vintage feel from the picture. Doesn't matter even if that makes me look auntie! :P We wanted to find another girl for Hakim to take pictures with... but to no avail. :P

The princess tag is an inside joke. Just go ahead and enjoy the pictures. :P

I hope they are having loads of great fun there right now! :)

After sending the guys off, Nian and I walked around the airport some more, visiting T3 to see if there are more things since our last visit. I think the only thing that got us mildly excited was the baby Crocs we saw. I think, baby shoes are just cute in general cuz they are so puny. :D

Our last programme for the day was to be at Naresh's wedding at the Indian Association. Honestly, I wasn't very keen on the wedding because the last one I was there, the food was horrible and the buffet spread was so limited.

But, as being Naresh, his wedding turned out to be a party with club music pumping, an Indian singer who could sing all 4 languages (Chinese, Malay, Hokkien and Tamil), and loads and loads of Banghra dancers.

The food was awesome too, they served Tandoori chicken! My favourite!

Well, yeah. So that marks the end of my quite-happening weekend. I know the iPhone picture quality sucks as compared to the camera, but bear with it ok? I'll stop it as soon as I get over my new toy. :P

Ok bye!

Quick Post!: Random Stuff over the weekend

  • Dec. 13th, 2009 at 11:12 PM
qc's wedding
There are supposedly more stuff, but I'm running out of time because I need to wake up at 6 in the morning tomorrow to prepare for our pre-wedding shoot!

"Why so fast?" I hear people ask.

Owell, that is because we found a really pretty awesome photographer that I, the bride-to-be, happen to pretty much like. And since she's relatively new to this line, she's building her portfolio for the month of Dec. Building portfolios = cheap and good photography!

So let's not wait! Besides, I really prefer to have the works of many good inexperienced photographers than to engage one expensive experienced photographer. Maybe the expensive one will come during my actual day.

So urm, I was supposed to be prepared... somehow. But trust me, both Nian and I are taking it so cool that... It's kinda 11PM now, and I haven't decided what to wear tomorrow. -_____-

And my husband-to-be is already asleep. LOL.

Earlier on, we had a romantic stroll (:P) after soccer to recce our love nest that is coming up. Amazingly, the whole area has been boarded up already.

Weird, because those construction HAD already been taking place even before the whole area was fenced up lor. So now... quite hard to check on the progress... Until Nian found a peeping hole (as shown in picture, he was asking me to go take a peep).

I managed to take a picture through the little peeping hole - POWERFUL camera lor! Tweaked around with the shutter speed, and there. Beautiful bright buildings with no flash. =D

Check out the clouds. Just look at it. Awesome!

They are currently, as according to Hubs-2-b, building the carpark now. Our block is not up yet because it is closer to the main road (where we were at). We're supposing our blocks will be one of the last few to be completed.

But that's ok!

Speculations are that we *might* even get our flat by the 2nd or 3rd quarter of 2012. WALAUEHEXCITINGBBQ!

Apart from getting excited over our apartment, I've been exhausting my iPhone's battery daily by playing all sorts of games and downloading applications. Heh.

I now have LOMO camera in my iPhone!

And the usual polaroid application which I guess the rest of the world probably has it.....

I had planned to get my manicure and pedicure done earlier on (as tweeted), but I was wretchedly late. I arrived at 8.40PM hoping that those lovely ladies would not mind working 30 minutes of OT just so that I could have pretty nails tomorrow.....

They refused. (obviously la, I so deserve it)

So now, I have ugly nails for my photoshoot tomorrow. Urgh. I'm trying to salvage the situation by attempting to paint something nice for myself, which I'm kinda stuck between lilac, or my new glossy purple that I really adore, but might not go with my dress tomorrow.

How lah like that. >.<

Ok la, I'd better at least try to prepare something for tomorrow. Like think about what hair-do I want or something. Or decide what colour eye-shadow I would prefer. :P

Good night y'all! :D :D

I like to nua at home.

Yes, even though the sun is shining happily and I am wishing I am by the beach with some good music and ice-cold beer, I cannot because yours truly is hacking her throat off.

*coughs coughs coughs*

Among so many common illnesses like the runny nose, cough, sore throat and fever, what are you afraid of the most?

I'm totally afraid of coughing because when I cough, one thing leads to another. -___- And I'll start having funny wheezing noises in my chest - I'm not even asthmatic, mind you - followed by sore throat, lost voice and then finally the fever.

All cuz when I cough, I cannot sleep. Cannot sleep = fever.

I'm currently at my third stage of the cough cycle, so I'm officially whispering to anyone who is willing to strain their ears to hear me. Anyone interested anyway? I headed to the doctor earlier on, and was prescribed FIFTY-LOLLARS worth of drugs ok!

Very expensive to be sick u noe. :( Luckily I'm not a sick cat, thank goodness.

So I'm trying to enjoy the best of it and try to enjoy lazing around at home watching loads of old movies. :D

Nian is sick as well, so well, two of us caught Night At The Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonians.

I knowwww!!

This is like so long ago, but we caught it anyways! I totally coughed-laughed my ass off and my favourite character is inevitably Able, the space monkey! Love how smart his expressions were, and how high he could jump to open the doors for the aeroplane to fly out. :P

We lazed around before I head on for a short tuition class (2.5hrs one shot, eh. Not very short la haha!) with my bad throat, only to come back home to find my very sweet boyfriend had a bowl of *something* waiting for me when I came back.

He cooked Prawn Mee for me!! :D

(I know I'm one of the luckiest bitches in the world - But think about it. If I don't deserve someone like Nian, do you? :))

I have been on soupy-diet ever since my cough (very good to lose weight btw, I lost 2KG!), so he decide that we should share a pot of love. And *eh-hem* the soup base wasn't MSG okay... It was the goodness of anchovies and prawn shells all simmered into the pot.

I'm salivating as I am typing.

I think he threw in like 12 pieces of prawns inside that pot, ohmygosh! That was truly prawn mee. Unlike the ones you get in the coffeeshop, where you get like 2 prawns and they are all sliced into halves. -__-

He scooped out the prawns so that he could peel them for me, and then throw it back into the soup.

"Why don't remove the shell before you cook, bee?"
"Remove already then not fresh already loh!"

Wa. Sounds like a chef in the making. :P

Nah, show you all one more time. :P

After dinner, we lazed around some more to catch some pretty amusing Channel 8 serial, and then we started on our next movie:

Land of the Lost!

I honestly didn't know of this movie when it was screened, when Nian and I, together with my sis-in-law were hanging out at the PLAY! kiosk wondering what to rent, we saw this trailer playing in the screen.

We thought the show was pretty funny and amusing, so the sis-in-law rented it and I swear this is really pretty wicked. :D

Apart from all these, I fulfilled yet another Want in my Wishlist!

HAHAHAHA YES I am one of the suckers who joined the 347286323 number of people to get the iPhone like FINALLY. This is the time when Singapore is truly democratic and ended SingTel's monopoly on the iPhone....

And all hail to M1 for such an awesome deal!! I bought it at like $148 after trading my E71. Additional $100 cuz I didn't bother to wait for my plan to hit 20 months. I cannot wait already!!

So yeah. I am officially Team iPhone now... despite the long time contemplating between BB and iPhone. And I'm filling it up real quick with all sorts of apps!

And yes hor I have Whatsapp already ok! So friends from Team iPhone can go ahead and Whatsapp me instead. Heehee!

P.S. Please ignore my dressing, I was "trying" to get to the gym... But I think I coughed the gym away. Yikes. :S
withlove

Awesome. I now have lavender oil in the room and air-conditioner at the comfortable temperature, I think the nap this afternoon isn't enough to keep me awake for long! :P

Besides, I just had a good dinner with Lava (finally, haven't seen her for a good 3 weeks!) and Manoj. Apart from the company, the chamomile tea and Cream of Tomato just made my night almost perfect.

The lacking of Nian lying around in my bed just made it one notch down, me thinks.

I just received a new sample as well! *egg-cited* Can't wait to skip to my bathroom to doodle with it. :D

Wokays! Have a good night y'all. I'm just gonna bask myself in the smells of these flowers.

Tata!

Because a friend of ours got married yesterday (that's like our 4th wedding in 2 months or so! QC, Lyana and then Wendy.. with more to come next year), I feel like I should post something public!

But yet there are some pictures I thought it's better to save it for Friends Only. So, nevermind ah, I will just post those viewer-friendly pictures first, and then when I get more pictures from XY, I'll decide later!

Media Law and Contemporary Approaches papers

I think C.A. paper wasn't as hard as I had expected it to be, just that there were a lot, a lot, a lot of things to be written, and I didn't stop at all for the entire 3 hours! With the aching right hand, I almost nearly couldn't finish the last part of my paper. Still busy scribbling the functions of a speech when the invigilators called us to stop writing.

I came out with a sore pinky (numb already!), Grace came out with an empty pen and amazing Audrey came out with finger abrasion!

Media Law paper came almost immediately - we only had time for a short lunch, and headed back for the paper while I was still busy stuffing the definition of defamation, contempt, copyright etc. etc. etc.

Law paper was horrid. I had no idea what to write when the question went as follow (not exactly, but what I remembered):

"You are a journalist in a local radio station, and there was this convict convicted of ARMED ROBBERY served 4 years of his 10 year jail term, and he escaped from the jail. He came to your radio station and demanded to speak to the in-charge. Upon finding out more, you realize that he wants the public to know, through the media, that the prison he was in undermines the law by oversubscribing drugs, abusing inmates and corruption. Discuss what are the legal and ethical issues you face, and what you will do."

Ok, I felt so WTF when I finished reading the question ok. I just said I'll call the police because as a journalist, I should practice social responsibility and self-protection. (WTF HE WAS AN ARMED ROBBER!) And then I'll launch an investigative journalism to uncover the insides of the jail, make sure everything is true (so that no contempt of court) and then splash the article big big.

I think I fail that question already lor.

So anyways, in order to cheer myself up, the classmates and I headed straight to 7-11 (where drunkard Andrew bought Burbon Coke (eeee)) and then we went to Raffles Creamery for some yummeh ice-cream!

Totally forgot about having diet when I see this bowl of happiness. Cookies and cream with marshmallows and gummy bears!!

AWESOMEEEEEE.

Oh ya. I painted my nails red (again) for good luck. Hahaha!

Headed for Nian's game after quite a long while, and watched my boyfriend score the first goal. They won 4-1! :) :)

Then we met up with XY and Kev to attend Mani's wedding.

Kevin wrote, "Lost freedom, Gained wife."

What a short and sweet message. Haha! Nian and I should write the same thing back to him during his wedding! But then again, doesn't seem like he really loses much freedom anyways.

We're probably the only 4 Chinese in the Hindu temple. :P

Edtied: More quality controlled pass pictures, haha!

We took a really, really long time to figure out where's the bride and groom. So many people on the stage!

Feeling really hungry, we headed out to grab some dinner before heading back to the Main Hall for vegetarian. MORE CALORIES.

Ah-doiiii!! Shiok through my fats! :D :D

So after binging on street food, we headed back to the temple and continued Round 2.

The dining hall, with loads of people!

So what do you store, in your GUCCI bag? Apparently, we just flooded XY's bag with thank you gifts which we forgot to take it back from her. :P Hope that was good breakfast, jie! :P

Both Nian and I skipped the rock-hard ice-cream. XY was like majorly fighting with the ice-cream or something to dig it out. :P Gimme Raffles Creamery anytime!!!

Night before exams

  • Dec. 5th, 2009 at 9:04 PM
Run NUS
... and I'm blogging.

Riiiiight.

I actually realized that there is pretty nothing much I can study for, only except to memorise the entire 10 point plan for my communication strategy essay tomorrow morning.

I have no idea wtf is concept question. -____-

So apart from changing my blogskin to some Christmasy layout (I LUBB XMAS!), I indulged in yummy food for such a cold weather. =)

Nian helped along with the dish, sitting in front of the TV with hot maggie mee... I think the best comment I got ever was "Wa, taste like what my mummy cook."

好感动噢~~~~~~~

Ok now, back to mugging.

Btw, the very reason why we're stuck with this stupid exam, was because there was this motherfucker who employed ghost writers to write his fucking essay. While now he has been expelled, just to play safe, all of us had to go through this shit anyway.

FML.

Thursday = Food day = Grow fat day

  • Dec. 4th, 2009 at 2:40 PM
bubblegum KL
Like any other Thursdays, the classmates and I will hang out for lunch before each of us heads back to our own crib, so yesterday wasn't any different. We had initially wanted Ayam Penyet for lunch, only to reach there and realized everything was torn down, except for a rooster poster on the pillar.

:(

No more Ayam Penyet.

Not wanting to go back to Ah Loy Thai Food because they just ate that last week, we decided on something nearby and headed to this western restaurant instead. I didn't even bother to look at the shop name, seriously.

The variety is pretty limited - took me 15 minutes to finally decide to have fish and chips, because the rest of the pasta didn't sound promising at all.... But all of us finished our food anyways.

Because we were all hungry. Ha!

Food was relatively cheap for western (not as cheap as Ah Loy Thai though), $9.90 for a set that consisted of main dish, soup of the day and a glass of drink.

Daniel poured so much cheese in his soup, it reminded me of mould. *bleagh*

All these ugly pictures are taken by Andrew Loy and Jimmy Ho. I know, I look very happy right. Machiam strike TOTO like that. -____-

+++

We headed for our Project Reach conference after that, and ah boy. Boring. The only thing I got excited over was the high quality papers they gave us in our goodies bag - which I took like 2 pads home instead of one. :P

More food when Audrey, Daniel and I headed for Tea after we sneaked away from the boring conference. Soup for the cold rainy day!! :D

Daniel had decided to tempt us with the not-very-healthy Chippy's... and beer. ohmygosh. It was so sinful, I swear I felt like dying after eating the cheesy curry chicken.

And I only had 3 pieces before I surrendered. -_____-

I bery fat already lor can! :(

I reached home to find 2 new pairs of soccer boots. HEEHEE.

Photoshop skills still horrifyingly scary. :S But this is the Nike Mercurial Vapourrrrrr. The one Christiano Ronaldo wears!

And it gets harder if the subject is a human! How did Karen Cheng did it so well? :( I'm testing the Adidas Predator.......

I like the hourglass-powder at the bottom of the shoes. Apparently, it's supposed to give the kicker a better momentum and the V-shaped front helps it to curl the ball better...

I don't really understand the designs this way. :S

So apparently there are 2 pairs of boots at home, because neither Nian nor I can decide which one we like better. LOL.

Ok. Back to the journals. *yawns*

When you pay peanuts, you get monkeys

qc's wedding
.... Or so what I always say.

These few days, I've been actively buying clothes with the excuse for "Hey! X'mas is coming, I NEED to look pretty for X'mas, right?" / "I think I need a new dress for the new year countdown party (which I don't even know if we're having any)" / "CHINESE NEW YEAR IS COMING LOR! NEW CLOTHES NEEDED! LIKE 3 PIECES!"

So I end up doing what I do best - online shopping.

I especially like to click on the SALES portion, because other than that most of the clothes are like $20 and above, and I'm actually quite stingy with myself when it comes to clothes shopping. So I spotted this cutie from [info]herwalkincloset .

Not bad right! I think it's quite chio, selling at like $12 or so. CHEAP!

So, a few days later, I received the piece and decide to wear it to school yesterday.

Ok, I know I have fugly hair. Bad hair day leh what to do!? Besides, my photoshop skills are not so good, yet. :P Anyways, just CONCENTRATE on the dress la!

Everything looked normal, right?

WRONG. Wa lao ehhhhh the thread came loose already lor! Then there's a hole!!!!! :( :( :(

Why like that never QC one? Or is it because this one last piece and defected, that's why so cheap? :( :(

In the end...... I used my trusty Hollywood Fashion Tape, folded into half and stuffed it in between the opening to seal them shut. Thank goodness for that, otherwise I cannot wear out already!

And now, I need to trouble my mother-in-law to carry out the sewing machine, buy the same colour thread... and thread it back up. Extra effort for the cheap dress.

-______-

Sad.

I cooked, washed and scrubbed yesterday

kitchen works
Yes, as written on my facebook, I cleared out 3 huge bags of rubbish from my room, and guess what? That was merely the cupboards.

*looks at my drawers, and the mess under my table*

Hee.

Drove out to get new school books for the sister, and bought KOI for everybody at home! Even my grandma was happy to be drinking KOI, geez. Grocery shopped a little, and headed back home to make dinner. (Yes, training to be housewife lor.)

Talking "Housewife", do you guys know that NTUC is honestly much cheaper as compared to Cold Storage in terms of groceries? I bought like 3 huge bags of veg and fruits and whatever, and it only cost me $12 in NTUC. I end up buying chicken thigh and capsicums in Cold Storage because NTUC ran out of it, and I paid $10 for the 2 items!

The Preparations

Anyway, here's the chicken. Marinating in honey and black pepper.......

McCormick's Black Pepper is one helluva something I cannot do without in the kitchen. It's like..... it just added the oomph to my otherwise plain cooking.......

Sliced white mushrooms for mushroom omelette, the golden mushrooms are for the vegetable soup. I forgot entirely about carrots and tomatoes, so my soup looked incredibly plain... as you can see later. -__-

My favourite veg to use for soup. Bok Choi.

Nian loves squids, so I bought a pair and planned to make sambal sotong. I forgot about the onions. -_____-

Peeled off the purplish skin too, hate that when it refuses to break in my mouth, and I end up choking on my sotong. Yucks.

Love, love, love capsicums. So happy lor the colours!

Chopped and ready to be fried.

Must have for soup.

The Results:

Very plain looking soup that obviously doesn't look very appetizing, but it tastes awesome. Love the sweet after-taste from the bok choi!

Chao-tar chicken with capsicums. I forgot I left my chicken in the deep-fryer. -____-

Sambal sotong that shrunk in size... I forgot sotong shrinks quickly. We only had enough for one serving. -___-

This is probably the only dish I didn't forget anything. Hee.

Thankfully, Nian showed enough support and finished up the food. Next time, I'd better stick to the "To-buy" list when I go grocery shop! Ok, I think I'm going to go for a 30-minute spin at the gym. I did a 15KM in 30 minutes last night, and I think I need to do more.

Must train, right? :D

NAIL POLISH FRENZY!!

  • Nov. 29th, 2009 at 10:22 PM
kitty cat!
A few days ago, I gave myself some half-past six manicure - which was merely trimming and painting of my nails. I deduced that if I were to do manicures once every month for my nails, I would easily set myself back AT LEAST $200...

I might as well do it myself! (Unless of course if I have manicurists who wants to seek for an advertorial, I really don't mind being sponsored. :P)

Anyways, since I am doing it for myself, I get to choose all the weird shit colours to put my nails through. And I actually enjoy painting weird unique colours on my nails, just so it makes me happy and people won't go around calling me a copycat. (Yah, like even though 328736423 other people are having the same red/purple/pink nails, I'll be the SOLE copycat. Believe me.)

Besides, not many nail parlours actually have the colours that I want, seriously.

Which nail parlour has YELLOW nail polish, tell me!? :P

And I really, really, really x 1000 times love this colour because it's so bright and happy!! It looks like I dipped my fingers into egg yolks!

And talking about egg yolks makes me hungry.

Nian chose the shimmery purple for me, and so is the neon pink. In fact, it was Nian who bought me the Neon Pink polish a few weeks back, and now I keep going back to freaking Face Shop for more. -____-

I love the Neon Pink too! It's so bright and happening, people stare at my nails these days instead of my face.

FML.

Haven't tried the shimmery purple, maybe next week! And by then, I'd have tried their Baby Blue/Hot Pink/Shimmery Pink/Hot Red.

Painting nails has never been so exciting I tell you girls!

Edited to add: Just now too excited with my nails, forgot to add in this.

To this particular girl who is reading my blog. I know you're reading all the time, and I know that every single time I announce something about my life, you go run along to report it to your mom and dad. Now, it's fine that you go bitch about me to your mom and dad, no problem.

My problem is, your mom and dad comes along to ask MY mom and dad to see if it was true.

WTF is your problem? You need confirmation as to whether I'm studying/working/getting married/having how many boyfriends or what? I don't even know you even though you are technically a "neighbour". You just went to the same secondary school as I do, but we were NEVER in the same class!

Heck, I don't even freaking remember your name. Or how you look like. You're just "the spectacle shop's uncle's daughter". Out of courtesy's sake, you're welcome to read whatever I've written but PLEASE. Gimme a break. Stop running to your mom and dad every now and then and have them running to my mum and dad confirming things.

What? You mean whatever I've said in my blog is not true, or am I a conversation bridge between you and your parents?

It FREAKS me out when it's not the first time my mom comes along and say, "you know, the spectacle uncle's daughter knows EVERYTHING about you, and spectacle uncle always come and ask me things."

Just stop, ok? And it's scary when sometimes, you don't read things properly, and you go around telling misinterpreted stuff to your parents, and then it gets misinterpreted to MY parents, and then I always get the "WTF bewildered talk".

Yes, like the previous time I took a photoshoot stint with my ex - I said that was a stint. And you had to run along and tell your mom and dad that I was getting married. You know how freaked out my mom was to think that her daughter is getting married, and someone else knows it first?

Stop it already ok. This is really pissing me off. I don't know you, and you don't know me so QUIT talking about me. Ok? Now go MYOB. >:(

Twilight: New Moon Movie

Nian and I just got back from a movie date, and while watching the Portsmouth-Man Utd game right now, I decided to blog! Btw, I think the referee for this game is really.... no comments.

I think I should learn to keep negative comments to myself, otherwise ah... I'd never know if people will start Stomping me for scolding referees in my blog or not. Scully the referee reads my blog....! Wa. :O

So apparently, the very smart referee gave 2 penalties in one half, and the one awarded to Portsmouth is really.... ok no comments.

Ok I'm gonna stop bitching about soccer, Nian and I caught New Moon earlier on and I thought the story was good because it followed the story book closely. One side down though, I thought the ending was utterly abrupt - I didn't like it one bit! :(

Anyways anyways! Since I just finished watching a Vampire movie, it got me thinking. Would you rather your boyfriend to be a werewolf, or a vampire?

Would you rather your boyfriend be a vampire or werewolf?

IT HAS TO BE A VAMPIRE.
3 (60.0%)

Werewolves are SEXY!
2 (40.0%)

For me, I'd have a werewolf for my boyfriend anytime! Why would someone wanna have a vampire boyfriend when....

1) He cannot sleep with you. You sleep, and he watches you.

2) He fantasizes drinking your blood every time you kiss him. O.O

3) He's too cold for comfort.

while a werewolf will be PERFECT because...

1) He's warm - good for snuggling

2) He's as fast as a vampire

3) He can sleep with you! Maybe sleeps too much also.

4) He warns you to "stand back" when he gets angry. And because he doesn't want to hurt you, he won't really get angry with you for shopping too much etc.

And..... who wants to date a man who is too-fair and have red eyes???

I'd want to date someone who is tanned, can go out on a sunny day with me (without glittering in the sun)... and most importantly, the presence of that 8 pecs. Heehee.

Movie Rating:
Marked down one star because of the disappointing ending, but it's definitely worth a weekend ticket!

P.S. It's 3-1 now!! HAHAHAA crazy referee seriously!!

Nian and I just came back from Sitex and the John Little Sale, and we FINALLY bought new wireless (YAY NO MORE WIRE CONNECTION!) and 2 new memory pillows at a steal! I'm hoping this works better than the previous one we bought... which "deflated" in one year's use. Bleagh.

Had the yummiest prawn mee at Balestier earlier on, and we binged on otak-otak with Milo in the rainy evening. No pictures cuz battery died!

Now.... I'm gonna plonk my bed in the new pillowwwwww BUAIBUAIII!!! :D :D :D

Oh, I *think* I might just go Kitty Lab afterall, we purposely walked past it just now, and it's ultimate cuteness lor! Anyone went oready want to share if it's worth the $38??

:O

Food Post!

manutd fans
I was inspired to write this post because the classmates brought me to this awesome place for Thai food earlier on in the afternoon, and I totally enjoyed myself!! :D

This is a reason why I have a love/hate relationship with morning classes. I know I can never ever wake up on time (unless Nian is on off/leave, and he'd bug me non-stop until I crawl out of the bed. :P) but yet after school, I know the usual gang will always have lunch together, and they know of SO MANY wonderful places to eat!

Last week we ate at Chinatown's hawker center, and Daniel bought this awesome Yong Tao Fu thingy that is in red sauce. I heard from him that Chinatown is the only place that sells it. Awwwww *hungry*.

Anyways! I thought I should backdate my entry a little, and talk about the Rabbit Brand Restaurant. Nian and I went back for lunch the second time after we picked up our wedding rings.

So after picking the rings up, we headed to Rabbit Brand Restaurant!

Check out how many different sets are sold! The cheapest I think, costs $4.50 (inclusive of tea + dessert ok!) and the most expensive is probably $10.50.

Nian got this special promotion set - Baby Lobster with stir-fried noodles. $5.50 only!! SUPER CHEAP, and the baby lobsters taste SUPER GOOD. I really, really like the mayo + thousand island sauce they dripped on the babies. *licks lips*

I got myself something more normal - hor fun. The chilli paste at the side, aiyooooo SHIOK I tell you! Even Nian who don't usually take chilli says it's good!

My set came with Fish Maw soup, which suits me perfectly cuz I enjoy thick broths like that, with loads and loads of vinegar. Heehee. Mine's $6.50, if I remember correctly.

Ah Loy Thai Restaurant

Honestly, when I reached that place, the restaurant didn't look very appetizing. Crowd was so-so either, totally unexpected at 12.15PM - LUNCH TIME!

But after sitting down and ordering our food, I realized we were lucky - too lucky in fact! We reached just before the lunch crowd. As soon as our food came (took 25 minutes!), whoa the crowd came as well and we had people queuing behind our tables waiting for their turns.

Scary!

The drinks - Drew ordered Thai Milk Tea, and I ordered Longan Herbal Tea, and both tasted awesome! I think the Thai Milk Tea was a little too sweet for me, so it didn't really quench thirst.

The Herbal Tea, on the other hand, worked perfectly for me! I even gobbled down the red dates.

Hee. Yeah I'm a glutton like that :P

Food came, and as you can see, we ordered LOADS of food. From Green Curry to Tom Yum Soup and Phad Thai... the amazing thing is that every single one of them tasted good!

I swear I wasn't too hungry that I lost my taste buds.

I had stir fried basil with seafood, and as usual, I gobbled everything down within 15 minutes. :P I'm gonna forsake Siam Kitchen and whatever "high-class" Thai restaurants and eat there for my Thai fix next time!

(Ah Loy Thai is in Shaw Tower, between City Hall and Bugis)

Now that I've eaten so much, I think I need to go work out a bit already. HARHAR. Byebye!

Swissotel Vertical Marathon 2009

army half marathon
This was last year....

Last year, Nian scaled the 73 storeys of Swissotel The Stamford alone, but this year... We did it together!

Yes, I somehow "found" the courage to take on the race, despite the lack of training. I was only aiming for a 20-minute timing, and I kept telling myself I was just "there to sightsee, but the lift broke down so I had to take the stairs instead."

LOL.

Nian is amused at how I can come up with a story to make myself take on 1,336 steps up 73 storeys.

I decide to put in more pictures in this entry, even though I know there are still people who are obsessed with me (like to the scrutiny of my nose and mouth - ohgosh, that's scary) and how I look, but I've decided to take the chill pill. It's an event worthy to be celebrated and remembered with pictures!

Wendy's wedding will be a locked post anyway so I guess this scrutiny from weird shits will be short lived. Or so I hope. =)

Enough said! Pictures time!

The goodies bag for this year. Not too bad!

Freshly painted nails, not for the race, but for Wendy's love-themed wedding. :D

Love and I before the race. =)

This is one of the amazing pictures you can take with your LX3 if you're good with your Program mode. :P

At the ending point. Honestly, my calves were aching like hell then, and I was feeling super giddy! Ventilation wasn't too good towards the 50th floor and above, and that made me black-out once, and then pant like crazy.

Weirdly, everybody tells me it's normal. No wonder I see so many contestants sit out at the end. =(

Awesome view :D

Yay! Now I have my own medal too!

We unabashedly blocked up the entire walkway to take this picture. :P Thanks Daph! :D

We were actually biting our medals but urm... forgot to turn on the flash. :P

Here's a nice one! :D

We headed to MOS Burger for brunch after the race while waiting for our results, and they were selling these cutie handphone charms! Daphne got herself the socks one, and she got me the X'mas tree. <3

Superrrr cute!

Now, I need to get back to massage my aching calves. Owwwww.

Nian came back happily with a blue DVD case in his hand last evening, waved it around and said, "PLAY station has UP now! They have Monsters vs. Aliens now too, so we can rent it!"

After watching Up on the dee-bee-dee, I kinda feel like kicking myself for missing the 3D one in the cinemas. =( Well, you see, Nian and I were just talking about catching Up, and then it kinda slipped our minds, and then... before we know it, the movie stopped screening already!

It's such a great movie it made us go awwww when Carl and Ellie grew up and grew old together, and it also made us me (oops sorry) cry when Ellie passed away. I like how Charlie Munz' dogs talk, and I'm still rather amazed by how 20,000 (I estimated haha!) balloons can bring your whole house away!

Afterwhich, we decided to catch Sixth Sense. Heehee, super old movie, I knowww!!

But who can resist this widely celebrated show ohmygosh! (And of course the old-young Bruce Willis who didn't know he was dead.)

We didn't rent this movie, but rather, Nian and I signed up for MIO-TV recently (it's just a matter of time, really. Starhub has been one major disappointment I refuse to continue the plan with them anymore!) and SingTel is (still currently) giving away free installation of set-top boxes, free soccer (CHAMPIONS LEAGUE YO!) all the way till August next year, and we've got 1 month of entirely free programmes to watch.

So this is one of the 238634 movies we've watched from MIO-TV, hahha!

I'm chasing my Desperate Housewives Season 5 now, too. Very busy ah, a lot of school essays to submit (exams coming!) but cannot let go of such good opportunity to catch up all the movies I've missed. =D

Ok! Gotta run, there's THE Man Utd game later, so I'd better go grab some quick dinner and park my butt in front of the TV again.

And it's our Vertical marathon tomorrow! Eeeeeks!

**The actual number of balloons when it first lifted off was 20,622! (See, I was very close!)
