Yesterday, I was just randomly shopping and decided to head into Watsons because Uniqlo didn't have anything much for me to see. (I kinda like a pair of harem pants though... maybe I might check it out over the weekend again!)

And then suddenly an idea hit me.

You know, like the... "Hmm, I've no idea what to buy. AH-HAH! HADA LABO SCRUB!"

If you don't remember how it looks like, it's this:

I bought the one on the left, cost me $15.90.

That's not the end of the story yet! )

Have a good Saturday y'all!

Edited to add: Hada Labo is up for redemption in fr3b.com!

Like I finally got it done since forever!

I wanted to post a picture of how they did it for me, but I realised the picture quality was so bad that it doesn't really make a difference whether I post them or not!

Anyways, I did my hair extentions in Vain Beauty in City Plaza.
How to get to City Plaza:
You take the East West Line towards Pasir Ris, alight at Paya Lebar, if I remember correctly. It's within walking distance and you can see this really tall building the says CITY PLAZA. :D

Where is Vain Beauty:
City Plaza, #01-31
Contact: 9850 6743
Opening hours: 1030AM to 1030PM

Why I chose Vain Beauty:
Initially I wasn't very keen on Vain Beauty because when I called, the lady who answered gave very curt answers, which made me feel that she wasn't very keen on doing my business.

On the other hand, when I called Maggie at Lucky Plaza (82231821), she was friendly and sincere, but her price was just a wee bit higher. This wasn't a problem for me, since Lucky Plaza is in town, it's more convenient for me anyway.

However, on the day when I finally set my mind to do my hair, I called Maggie again, she didn't pick up her phone. So, I decided on Vain Beauty and decided to give it another shot.

Turns out, the lady who took my appointment was rather friendly, so I thought it won't be that bad afterall. In fact, the opening hours till 1030PM was quite useful for me because I wanted to do my hair already, and then meet Mickey who was coming back from Taiwan with my new long hair. :D

Vain Beauty stood out from Maggie from Lucky Plaza because of:

1. Opening hours. Maggie's opening hours is only 12.30PM to 8.30PM, which is rather difficult for me.
2. Price. Maggie charges $2 per strand for braiding, while Vain Beauty charges $1.50.

What kind of extensions Vain Beauty provides:
1. Hair extensions
2. Eyelash extensions - I have no idea how much it costs because I don't believe in eyelash extensions. :P

From hair extensions, you get to choose 2 different types of extensions: braiding and microclips.

Microclips are cheaper, at $1 per strand, but only able to last for 3 months or so. When you sleep, it is said that you can actually feel the chips all over your head, not very comfortable.

As for braiding, they braid the hair with your real hair, a lot of manual work is required. Hence, they charge $1.50 per strand for braiding. It is said to be able to last up to 6 months if well taken care of, and when you sleep, you don't really feel much of the braids.

The first few days for me was quite uncomfortable cuz the braids were kinda tight, and I felt that my hair was being tugged constantly. However, now 2-3 weeks into the extensions, I'm beginning to get used to it, and due to my constant washing of my hair, the braids have now loosen up a little so I don't feel so "tensed up" anymore. :D

Photobucket

Here's a picture of how the braids look like!

I did a total of 250 strands at $300, they only charge me for the first 200 strands, and the subsequent 50 strands were free. I don't think you'd need THIS much of hair if you have decent shoulder length hair. My hair was too short, which was why they needed so much to extend to my current length now.

After 6 months, when you decide to remove the extensions because of the knots they entangle over the days, you can always go back to Vain Beauty. As long as the entanglement isn't too bad, they don't charge anything at all. :D

So, you can keep your used extensions, and then re-tie them all over again!

Alright! I hope you guys find this write up useful (even though it's like soooo late hahahaha!)

I'm also currently using this new brand of eyelash growth serum from Foltene. The management from Foltene has given me a free sample so that I could do a write up on it, so watch out for Foltene's eyelash growth serum and my longer, thicker eyelashes in a fortnight's time!

This post was originally from thesupergirl.wordpress.com but I've since moved here and locked up the posts. Please feel free to continue commenting here! P.S. I do hope google still directs the Cleocat search here...

Edited on 25 August 2009, 15 months after this entire unhappiness.

Murphy has replied in the COMMENTS section, and I have approved it. Do take a look and reply to him if you have anything in mind. Your chance is here. =)

I'm rushing for work, but in the meantime Murphy, if you think I'm just creating false news to hype traffic into my blog, you are just not only dishonest, but also damn wrong.

For one, I am not the only blogger who blogs about your shoddy services. Next, the readers I have prior to this incident remains the same. And thirdly, no one is really interested about Cleocat unless of course they are in it for a cheap buy - with lousy returns.

And of course, if you think I'm just writing bullshit, surprise surprise. How come so many people agree with me, and so many people have placed warnings against Cleocat as well?

EXPLAIN. :)

In the meanwhile, amuse yourself with these:

And if you're really free, it will be totally awesome if you could address to all my readers who have left comments below. They cannot wait to hear from you. =)

Daphne and I decided to come up with some money to bring in some clothes from this particular supplier for StickyChewyChoc.

NEVER DID WE EXPECT SHODDY SERVICES FROM THEM IT DISGUSTS US TO THE MAX.

We were supposed to order the minimum orders of 15 pieces of clothes to enjoy the wholesale prices.

18 MAY 2008

We placed our orders with CLEOCAT FASHION, and it says on the site, that since we had Preorder items, items would only be shipped out on the very day itself where preorder items come in.

Note our new change in order delivery : If preorder items are in your order, your order (incl. instock items) will only be sent out upon date of arrival of preorder items. Orders with no preorder items will be processed immediately and sent out once payment is received. Packages can usually be received within 3 working days after payment is made, you may check your order status by logging in to your account.

We made payment on 19 MAY 2008.

24 MAY 2008

No emails, no sms from the supplier, we had no idea if the clothes were being sent out.

25 MAY 2008

Daphne couldn't take it any longer because we have some orders to rush to our customers, and so we mailed them:

may we know if our order has been mailed out? We need one of the items
urgently, the order was supposed to be mailed out 22nd, supposed to reach
today (3 days). =/

So, this idiotic supplier replied:

Hi Daphne, yes we have already mailed out your items on Friday 23/5/2008.
Normal singpost delivery can be a little erratic and take as long as 4
working days
. In future if you need the items urgently, would you like to
consider courier instead?

Oh? 4 working days did he say? Yeahh we received the clothes today, but only TWO FREAKING PIECES out of the 15 we've ordered, in an almost torn, crumpled envelope and 2 pieces of dresses haphazardly squeezed into the envelope!!

WHERE ARE THE REST OF THE CLOTHES!?!

Being really furious with the way they handled our mails (we don't send out shoddy mails to our buyers, so don't send out shoddy mails to us in the first place!) I wrote them a very angry email:

Hi Mei,

I have placed an order with you for 15 pieces of clothings about a week ago or two, and my partner has emailed you regarding the mailing out of the items. We understand that it was mailed out on Friday, 23rd May 2008, and we were prepared to receive the clothings up to 4 days time.

HOWEVER, when I received the clothings today, only TWO PIECES of what we've ordered arrived.

What happened to the rest of the clothings? Don't you know that by separating the orders, the tendency of lost mail is higher? We run a business, it is easy to locate a lost mail of 15 pieces of clothing but how are we going to locate lost pieces of STREWN SINGLE MAILS??? Why aren't the 15 pieces MAILED together? Why are they separated? By mailing them together, we save postage as well. So, why?

Besides, I don't think it will take 4 WORKING DAYS to get a miserable mail like what you've sent us. The envelope was crumpled and almost torn. Technically, if you squeezed 2 pieces of tops into 1 envelope and used $1 stamp, postage will only be $0.50 per piece.

Why charge us $1 each? There isn't even basic handling of the envelope! Why isn't it taped up securely? Why is it just stapled? So, after collecting $15 from us for postage, only $7 was used for stamps. Don't tell me you charge $8 for handling because there is ZERO TRACE of handling. Apart from that, I am surprised you charge weird amounts of money for registered mail as well. What GST? What shipping? If there IS indeed such costs, it should've been incorporated into the items, NOT IN THE POSTAGE.

I hope we can hear some reasonable explanation from you, Mei. Or else I will not hesitate to put up Cleocat Fashion up in my blog to warn others about it. My blog has a monthly traffic of 11,000 readers, and most are young ladies and girls. I am sure you wouldn't need such bad publicity. If you'd like, I can attach my monthly statistics for your reference.

GUESS WHAT THAT SHODDY SUPPLIER REPLIED???

Hi Jacqualine, thanks for the feedback. First of all I would like to point out that you chose normal singpost delivery. Although we do state that it will take 4 working days, sometimes it could be shorter and sometimes longer. This is something not within our bounds of control. Secondly we package your items into 2 packages becos singpost limits 2 kg per package.

Regarding your concern about lost mails, I believed you should choose courier instead of normal singpost delivery? That's why we offered courier whereby it is safer and they can allow heavier weight.

The reason why we charge $1 is becos we have factored in the GST and import tax into the postage, that's why! We paid GST and import tax when we bring in the items. I assume that you have been running your blog for a long time and I'm very sure when you import from Taiwan, this amount has been charged as well?

fyi we are wholesalers, not retailers. The volume of orders we handle is very high and to do things fast, we simply staple the envelopes. I believe there's nothing wrong with doing that and in fact you are the 1st customer to complain about this!

Anyway, I would appreciate that if you could try to find out things from us rather than speaking in such a tone. This will not help the situation at all and neither would it help you. We do things in a certain manner due to our business model. Customer do know that we are wholesalers but often mistakenly expected retail service. We are already selling very low margins and in order to sell at an attractive price, there are certain things that we do not do. If you do expect such retail serviced, I would advise you to buy from the online retailers or our resellers. I hope you understand this.

Whoa like EXCUSE ME! You girls be the judge. If I were to send out pieces of clothings to you girls in some stupid envelope STAPLED, not taped. But stapled. And I come up with some crap reason that it's because we have a lot of orders, which is why we stapled your envelopes, do you girls freaking BUY the explanation?

Like please get that in mind. Without shoppers like US, there won't be any business for suppliers like THEM! >: (

And besides, how can 15 pieces of clothing exceed 2kgs!?

He thinks I'm in Primary 3 or what? 2000g divided by 15 pieces of clothing, each piece has to be more than 100g! 100 grams is the weight of the freaking panadol I carry for the headache these IRRESPONSIBLE people give me!

So, after collecting $15 of postage, the actual postage price is only $7 max. WHAT HAPPENS TO THE REST?

He says it's GST. GST my nehnehpok I swear! What GST? Registered postage is $2.24 FLAT. GST is included and don't tell me that it's incurred from the clothes because if it is, CHARGE IT ON THE CLOTHES, NOT ON TE POSTAGE!

Then nevermind. Isn't their responsibility to let us buyers know, that they split the postage? Imagine you in my shoes, having ordered 15 pieces of clothing, only 2 arrived. How much weight can 2 pieces of clothes take? Sorry hor, we don't wear armours!!

After what I've written, I ended:

you're giving me an impression that as a wholesaler, you have "a huge volume of sales", little orders like us probably didn't matter as much, isn't it? Given the tone of your replies, you are not even apologetic or sympathize with us about the situation we're going through.

Instead, it sounds like you're pushing the fault to me: it's my bad that I had to choose normal mail? Note: if you had charged as per Singpost rates, we would have gone with registered mail. It's my bad that I didn't expect the goods to be split up? It's my bad to act up, having to only receive 2 pieces out of 15 pieces of clothing? That's like even lesser than 20% of the stock!

So please, I would be appreciative if you could tell me if the remaining 13 pieces has been mailed out. Was it packed together in the same package, or was it split up into 746575435643 packages so as to avoid hitting the 2kg caps?

And this mofo had the cheek to reply:

Hi Jacqualine, I think there's no point talking anymore since you could not see my point and your expectations were wrong. I advise you to buy from other suppliers rather than from us. As for the remaining package, I advise you to wait for a while.

WHOA I TELL YOUUUUU!!! THIS MOTHERFUCKER IS NOT EVEN SORRY ABOUT THE TRAUMA HE HAS PUT US THROUGH!!!

I finally ended with:

All I can say is that if a business does not deliver as promised, we can classify it as a scam. First you mentioned 3 working days, then 4 working days. And now 4 working days later, I've only received 2 out of 15 pieces, not even the complete mail.

I am very disappointed at how you guys run your business. Perhaps this is why you need to put your clothes dirt cheap - to cover up your shoddy business making skills.

Apparently this supplier has too much sales, that they are uninterested in our little mediocre sales. Nevermind about that, but surely we don't deserve such service right?

So many days already, where are the goods? If they can deliver what they promise, they shouldn't promise at all!!

And their stupid replies turns me off big time.

Hence, my dear readers, PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF CLEOCAT-FASHION.

Yes, their clothes might be dirt cheap, but let me tell you girls, you can definitely get better deals with better quality elsewhere.

And no, you won't be treated like dirt.

ETA at 5PM:

THAT FELLA STILL HAD THE CHEEK TO WANT TO SUE ME FOR SLANDER OMFG!!

Hi Jacqualine, if you think my business is a scam, I advise you to make a police report. You can check our details at ACRA. btw for what you said in the email, pls kindly take note that I can already sue you for slander.

YEAH YOU KNOW WHAT?

Before you sue me for slander, it would be perfectly great if you can show proof that you have indeed mailed out the items. If there's no proof of you delivering what you've promised, then go ahead and sue, you won't win anyway.

And yes. If I don't get my goods by the end of tomorrow, I WILL go to the police. 15 pieces of clothing will not take up 2KG, anybody will know that. So, what is your intention of splitting them into 2 and 13? Besides, Singpost don't take up to 1 week to mail out items.

Good luck.

GOOD LUCK YOU SICKENING SUPPLIER. I HOPE YOUR BUSINESS FAIL AND YOU END UP BEGGING IN THE STREETS.

THAT'S FOR YOUR SUPER STUCK UP BEHAVIOUR. WE DON'T NEED TO SEE YOUR FACE TO DO BUSINESS OKOKOKOK!

PLEASE, DO NOT BUY FROM CLEOCAT FASHION.
Honestly, if you have so much money, pass them to me. No point buying rags from them, or worse, the stuff don't come at all!! >:(
